Buddha Bodai is...

Bodacious and Kosher and vegetarian. Daniel and Ming were our guides and the fried taro custard, watercress dumplings, taro dumplings and sticky rice shu mai(shown here) were all good. Brunch for 4 was $24! Afterwards we walked to little Italy and ran into Pat Cooper the comedian at Di Paulo's where we stocked up on provolone and fresh mozzarella ....what a town!

Just a Juska Christmas memory

The reading of a Christmas Memory by Truman Capote is a tradition in this home. Billy is a Maritime lawyer and he reads with the gravitas of Ishmael and the sweet warmth of your favorite cousin. The crab cakes and pigs in blankets were matched only by the home made mint cookies and other confections with chocolate and peanut butter made by a daughter in law. On one side of Billy ,Mary Ann, a psychotherapist wife (good skill for any spouse) and on the other Kenin and Jim's sister, Kieran. Tim,Maureen and Jeanne and I were there and thus not eating out. So consider this a holiday card entry in lieu of a restaurant review. But maybe you will accept this as a useful reminder about the joy of family friends tradition at an A1 Holiday gathering. May your gatherings be as savory and sweet.

Anona Hails Caesar

Caesar Perales has served as a civil rights advocate and a Deputy Mayor and State Commissioner..so there were many good reasons to praise and boost this leader. And a fine turkey dinner was just an extra incentive as was the joy of Anona's totally captivating grandson, Juno. Here
he is seen with Frank performing the mug-a-minute theatrical treat and of course the cup on the head parade. Hail Caesar! Hail Anona! Hail Juno!

Grand Harmony for Social Workers

Rosa and Megan and Cao
were honored in Chinatown and Pat and Joyce enjoyed the appearance of NYS Attorney general Eric Schneiderman and then the Shrimp and other tidbits.
