Old Fort Replica
B.B.KING  goes Vegas
Jacks for BBQ. Smoked chicken, turkey, and ribs and apples and beans for under $10. Rumba for good Indian food when they said only Wendys was open. Roberts Western World for Johnny Cash covers with western boots as decor and Johnny's side guitarist on stage. BBKings for a Las Vegas lounge act with energy. And the strip on Bwy...Bill, I could hear Nashville Cats as I looked at the lights. And the Commodore had singer songwriters with hope and ambition and country love.

PSbklyn is no no

PS you may want to go to 833 Union st near 7av only for a burger and fries. Jeanne thought the worst part about the pizza was the crust...I didnt like the sauce. The grilled cheese sandwich looked promising but delivered no ooze...or ahs. The pretzel pieces might have been ok if not slathered in butter...white wine warm..pierogies not as good as any in greenpoint or at Blue Ribbon or at Ballaboosta. PSbklyn on Urbanspoon
p.s. looks better than tastes

Rothchild's 411 Atlantic Ave Bklyn

My family according to one story were known as the Rothchilds of Roumania..but tonight after Nixon in China in HD at BAM and before Gogol's Diary of a Madman at the Harvey we sought sustenance at Rothchilds and were not disappointed. 718-596-3110. Carrot Ginger soup ,Albarino and a nice IPA served by a beer knowledgeable man and the perfect shrimp po boy hit the spot. And this warm intimate place has a fantastic design and a small balcony lounge that should be busy on Valentines Day.

Maureen's Ravioli

Is it sacreligious for a restaurant blogger to feature a neighbor's dish? Save me...restaurants have competition: a home cooked meal.

Tulsi...Holy Basil, Batman

The best meal I or jeanne have had in so long...and we have had many...maybe too many good meals. And Barbara and Nick loved everything from the German Sylvaner to the Vouvray and the bread pudding. The lamb, the basil green chicken kebobs, the rabbit... and the bananna dumplings , the nan and the pea and coconut croquettes, the peppers and cauliflour, and the lamb. Could there be a more professional and kind staff? Is there a chef in NYC who can provide such flavourful deeply spiced variety of foods better than the commander,Hemant Mathur? If the food Gods are just Gods, then this will be known as the holy grail fo foodies. All that a restaurant lover could want is here. 46st bet 2av and 3av.

Balaboosta is organized and tasty

From the liver pate to the broasted/fried calliflower this mulberry and spring Manhattan emporium has good Gavi and good lamb chops and quinoa salad and shrimps in phylo and excellent wait staff.
The name of this Israeli spot is from a Yiddish word meaning top notch house- keeper,cook,cleaner,homemaker,seamstress,exec...I will go back.

Village Lobster is dead on arrival

VILLage Lobster and Crabhouse is a wasted sports bar with amateurish clueless staff and lobster steamed til it is tasteless and dry. The bartender is preoccupied and no one is managing. Oysters were so chilled they seemed to come from a freezer.
