Pants on Fire did not win the derby but we did with GOOD FORK and Ft Defiance

Derby Hat winner
steak and tofu
On Van Brunt St in Red Hook Bklyn are two places previously reviewed Good Fork and Ft Defiance. And on Derby Day we needed to stretch....so a long walk from The Slope to Red Hook was in order. I really didn't have the derby on my mind when we arrived at Good Fork and left our names for a table and trotted over to a place named for the fort with two cannons that deterred the Brits from entering NY Harbor during the Revolutionary War's Battle of Bklyn. Then the bartender arrived fresh from her win at
the derby hat competition at Bell House.  Her name is Abagail..."like Adams," she said. So you're thinking Liar liar, pants on fire ...but no she and the restaurant are clearly revolutionary. See the salad and steak and persecco i snapped. But so was the vegi steak and eggs jeanne had (tofu) and my soft shell crabs and my dumplings had later at G-Fork (no relationship to Good Wife). The bus ride home was quiet and kind of looked like the gates after Animal Kingdom and his colleagues were OFF.
